Some few years back, in a series of articles, one Some few years back, in a series of articles, one published in International Journal of Social Psychiatry and another in Transcultural Psychiatry, we had argued that one of the barriers to functional mental health literacy in this environment is the ignorant, stereotypic, unhelpful, and inaccurate depiction of mental health issues in local films. We also opined that filmic portrayals, which reflected a more realistic cause, manifestation, and orthodox treatment options for mental health issues may be a good step going forward. We recommend a collaboration between film producers and mental health expert's.

Few months ago, the opportunity presented itself to cooperate with an enthusiastic film producer.

Cold Feet is one of the series of short films striving to change the common narrative of malevolent spirits and magical healing in psychiatry. The 15-minute film, made a fair attempt at depicting the dynamics of psychosocial problems and childhood adversity in postpartum depression, and PTSD.

It was released yesterday in commemoration of the National PTSD awareness day.
